Police Investigate Death of 2-year-old Girl in Gary

GARY, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say they are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl in Gary that has been ruled a homicide.

The Lake County coroner's office said Monday that Nieyely Lopez of Lake Station died of “multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.'' She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

According to The (Munster) Times (http://bit.ly/1FqTjg3 ), a police report says two people had flagged down firefighters in Gary with the girl wrapped in a blanket. The report says she was cold and unresponsive.
