2 Gary Brothers Reported Missing Days Before Bodies Found

HOBART, Ind. (AP): Authorities say two brothers from Gary had been reported missing by their mother 11 days before their bodies were found decomposed in a wooded area in northwest Indiana.

The Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force said in a news release that 18-year-old Arreon Lackey and 16-year-old Antonio Lackey were reported missing by their mother July 6. The Munster Times (http://bit.ly/1LCLBBR ) reports fishermen found two bodies in Hobart on Friday, and the Lake County coroner's office identified them as the brothers.

Coroner Merrilee Frey has said each brother had a single gunshot wound, and their deaths have been ruled homicides.

Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force spokesman Robert Byrd says investigators are looking into a previous shooting that targeted the Lackey family's home to see if it has any connection to the brothers' deaths.
