BOONVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A man who was one of five people charged in connection with the slaying of a man at a southwestern Indiana power plant is scheduled to stand trial next spring.
A Warrick County judge set an April 4, 2016, trial date for 33-year-old Matthew McCallister, who faces murder and other charges in Joseph Nelson's February 2014 shooting death. The Martinsville man's body was found in coal-handling equipment at Alcoa Warrick Operations.
McCallister's trial had been set for this month, but was delayed by the retirement of the judge originally scheduled to oversee his trial.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports four other people charged in connection with Nelson's killing have already been sentenced to terms ranging from four to 20 years after pleading guilty to a range of charges.
