Illinois Man gets 37 Months for Indiana Bank Robberies

HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) _ An Illinois man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for a pair of bank robberies in northwest Indiana.

Federal prosecutors in Hammond say 39-year-old Kenneth Culver of Steger, Illinois, was sentenced Tuesday to 37 months after pleading guilty to two counts of bank robbery.

Prosecutors say he robbed a Chase Bank in Munster on Aug. 12, 2014, and again on Dec. 3, 2014. They say he passed a note to tellers demanding the money, stealing a total of $3,875.

Officials say Culver was on bond for the first robbery when he committed the second robbery.
