VAN WERT, Ohio. (WOWO): A man from Ohio is dead after a fatal wreck in Van Wert County.

The accident happened Wednesday morning a little before 8:30 on State and Mendon roads southeast of Van Wert. 58 year old George Brake of Ohio City was hit on the drivers' side by a pickup in the intersection. 

Brake was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the wreck. The driver of the truck, 37 year old Babette Stewart of Van Wert was injured and taken to Van Wert County Hospital. 

Alcohol is not being blamed as a factor, but the crash does remain under investigation.
