INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A federal judge is set to take up a refugee relocation group’s bid to block Gov. Mike Pence’s order barring state agencies from participating in the resettlement of Syrian refugees in Indiana.

The judge will hear arguments Thursday in Exodus Refugee Immigration’s request for a temporary injunction blocking Pence’s order until the Indianapolis-based nonprofit’s lawsuit is resolved.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana sued the governor in November on behalf of the group, arguing it would be irreparably harmed if vital funding were withheld under Pence’s order.

Pence issued his directive amid security concerns following the deadly Paris terrorist attacks. Pence later said he wouldn’t block state agencies from distributing federal refugee aid to Syrians.
