FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man was arrested after police say he beat his daughter and forced her into a timeout because he believed he stole his marijuana.

Jacob Lewis Jones, 28, was charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury and battery, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

Jones accused his middle school-aged daughter of stealing his marijuana in November 2015 after he smoked marijuana and thought it was lesser quality than what he had bought, according to court documents.

He ordered his daughter to sit in a chair for about two hours, but then a fight broke out and he started beating her, according to court documents.

A caseworker responded to the scene and saw bruising on her face. She also said the girl’s lip and left eye were swollen.

Jones told the caseworker he only backhanded his daughter twice and that his daughter was “acting crazy and hurting herself,” according to court documents.

His daughter was removed from the home and placed into foster care that night.

Jones’ initial hearing is on Friday.
