Ball State University to hold forums as new president hired

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP): Ball State University is holding forums as the school prepares to hire a new president.

There will be four forums on April 21 at the L.A. Pittenger Student Center in Muncie. There will be a forum for faculty and academic staff, one for general staff and one for students.

The (Muncie) Star Press reports a separate forum for alumni and the community will be the same day at Worthen Arena. Two more forums are scheduled April 22 at the Burkhardt Building, one for faculty and staff and one for students.

Former University president Paul Ferguson resigned Jan. 25 after 17 months in office. The school’s board of trustees came under fire over a lack of transparency following Ferguson’s departure.

Trustees say the forums are an effort to engage the community and campus.
