INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A Ford plant in Indianapolis and the Washington County courthouse are among ten sites on Indiana Landmarks‘ annual list of most endangered buildings.
The nonprofit group released its list Thursday, saying eight of the ten listings are new and two landmarks are appearing again after last year. Those are Camp Chesterfield and the Rivoli Theatre in Indianapolis.
The group says it lists sites that “have reached a dire point” but all have potential for “revival and reuse.”
Indiana Landmarks started issuing the list in 1991. It says that since then it has listed 112 historic sites.
Other sites on this year’s list include Beech Church near Carthage, Hazelwood in Muncie, the Speakman House in Rising Sun, Monon High Bridge near Delphi, Pryor’s Country Place near Angola and Southside Turnverein Hall in Indianapolis.
