Frost Advisory issued for much of listening area

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  It’s starting to feel like winter for the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory through the overnight hours for most of northern Indiana.

The advisory starts at 2 a.m. Sunday morning and lasts until 8 a.m., and during that time expect the temperatures to drop enough to damage plants.  Widespread frost is expected.

Forecasters say it’s going to drop into the lower to mid 30’s.  During that time expect some patchy frost.

Sensitive outdoor plants may be damaged or killed if left uncovered.  If you’re worried of plants being damaged, you can cover them with fabric or burlap.  Some plants you may be able to cover with a flower pot to help protect from the frost.
