Woman Sentenced in Church Embezzlement

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An Auburn woman has been sentenced to 30 months for embezzling from a church.

Wednesday a US District Court judge sentenced Beth Boger on 10 counts. She pleaded guilty to the crime two years ago.

According to the Journal-Gazette, Boger was bookkeeper at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett and during that time funneled checks to her business and later transferred them to her personal account.

Those checks totaled more than $364 thousand dollars from 2004 to 2009. She's also charged with wire fraud and tax evasion.
