FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you’ve been dreaming about adding a four-legged friend to your family, you’ll get a chance to bring one home this weekend.

The Allen County SPCA, Steuben County Humane Society and Perfect Paws Pet Rescue are offering same-day adoptions for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens all under one tent for National Adoption Weekend, according to the Allen County SPCA.

“We encourage people to come out to PetSmart this weekend, meet with the dogs and cats, and take their animal home the same day,” Allen County SPCA Executive Director Jessica Henry said.

The adoption tent event will be 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at PetSmart, at 10260 Maysville Road in Fort Wayne.

The animals are available at a first come, first served basis, but priority will be given to pre-approved adopters interested in a pet from the Allen County SPCA.
