HAMILTON, Ind. (WOWO): A wanted sex offender has been located.

Steuben County detectives located David Christopher Gilbert, 23, of Avilla just before 1 p.m. Thursday at a home in Hamilton.

He’s a non-compliant sex offender who had failed to register as a sex offender in Steuben County. A level 6 felony warrant for failing to register as a sex or violent offender was issued for Gilbert.

As recently as 2014, he had a warrant out of Whitley County for child molesting, according to WTHD Radio.

Gilbert is in custody at Steuben County Jail on $3,000 bond.
