Fort Wayne airport ready for busy 4th of July travel

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It’s a busy travel weekend as many people fly in and out of Fort Wayne for family vacations and to visit loved ones around Independence Day.

With the terrorist attack earlier this week in Istanbul and a similar attack in Brussels back in March, there is an increased security presence at America’s airports, including Fort Wayne International Airport.

“Security and safety of our passengers is always our absolute highest priority,” says Lauren Zuber, Airport Air Service and Marketing Manager.

She recommends arriving at the airport at least two hours before your flight due to the increased security measures and regular TSA screenings.

AAA projects nearly 3.3 million Americans will take to the skies this holiday weekend.
