Indiana Michigan Power warning “Pokemon Go” players of dangers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Michigan Power is warning “Pokemon Go” players of the dangers of going near electrical substations and transformers.

The free game was released last week and has quickly gained popularity. During the game, players go to different locations to catch Pokemon. Indiana Michigan Power said there is some discussion that electric type Pokemon can be caught near substations and transformers.

“Please be advised that electrical substations and transformers are very dangerous and not to be considered as gaming locations,” Indiana Michigan Power spokesperson said in a statement.

Players should never climb the fence, enter a substation or climb company poles. Players should also stay away from power lines.
