FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A few groups are teaming up to push a Fort Wayne-based utility to retire one of its coal power plants.

Interfaith Power and Light, the Sierra Club, and the Citizens Action Coalition are launching a billboard and advertising campaign in Fort Wayne to urge the public to ask Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) to retire a coal plant that’s currently operating in Rockport, according to the News-Sentinel.

The group has already set up at least one billboard, which can be found on Maumee Avenue near Chute Street.

They’re asking I&M to phase out the plant in favor of more of an investment in renewable energy.
