FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has approved $2.8 million in Regional Cities funding for the University of Saint Francis.
According to Inside Indiana Business, the university says the money will assist in funding renovations to two buildings as part of its downtown campus project.
USF has renovated Fort Wayne’s former Chamber of Commerce building, which will become the new USF Business Center. The building will house the Keith School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Historic Women’s Club. The project also includes the university’s new Music Technologies facilities in the former Scottish Rite building.
The Regional Cities funding will cover nearly 20% of the total cost of the project.
The university’s downtown campus will celebrate its opening on August 16.
The announcement comes one day after Trine University in Angola also received $2.8 million in Regional Cities funding, to be used toward construction of a hockey arena and events center.
