(WOWO): The Emergency Alert System will be tested Sunday afternoon.

The test will happen at 2:20 p.m. and will help to make sure the public, including non-English speakers and people with disabilities, will see or hear the information.

During the test, it will signify that it is a test. Residents can hear the alert on the radio and see it on TV.

The alternate date for the EAS test is Oct. 5.

Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau of the Federal Communication Commission will coordinate the test.

People who don’t see or hear the alert, are asked to report the issue on FCC’s website.
