Local activist, Linda Vandeveer, to be laid to rest

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Local activist, 67-year-old Linda Vandeveer, will be laid to rest Monday morning.

Final viewing hours will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church located at 1400 Washington Center Road. The viewing will be followed by funeral services.

After the service, there will be a police, fire and civilian procession with a tentative route via Lima Road to Wells Street and then to the Law Enforcement/Firefighter Memorial. Her body will continue on to the McComb’s Tribute Center at Main Street and Lindenwood Avenue.

Vandeveer, who helped out with establishing the memorial on Wells Street, lost her fight against cancer on Thursday.
