FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A downtown Fort Wayne restaurant is up for two big food industry awards.

The James Beard Awards are essentially the “Oscars of the food industry,” according to a report by our Partners in News at ABC21, and The Golden, which opened around six months ago, is looking to be nominated for the “best new restaurant” and “best chefs in America – Great Lakes region” awards.

The restaurant owners say the nomination alone could put Fort Wayne “on the map” with culinary experts.
