Apartment fire Monday morning, three people safe

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported apartment fire around one a.m. Monday.

On arrival to 1814 Chartwell Drive, firefighters found light smoke coming from the roof and attic area, and a small fire in the ceiling of the apartment.

Two adults and one child had safely evacuated the home prior to the firefighters arrival.

Minor fire damage was reported, along with minor smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
