8,500 Burt’s Bees Baby garments recalled due to choking hazard

NATIONWIDE, (Indiana) – The Butterfly Garden Coverall & Hat Sets by Burt’s Bees Baby have been recalled due to a choking hazard.

The snap on the crotch of the coveralls can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants.

The recall began June 29 and includes about 8,500 units.

The manufacture date code is August 2016 and only coverall sets with the style number LY24195 are included in the recall.

The recalled items are 100% organic cotton, and were sold in blossom pink with white butterflies. There is a white ruffle around the neck that runs down the front of the garment. It has snaps in the crotch and was sold in infant sizes NB, 3M, 6M and 9M.

The coveralls are sold in-store at Babies R Us and BestBuy Baby, and online at these websites:

The coveralls were sold from December 2016 through May 2017.

Consumers should immediately stop using the garment and contact Burt’s Bees Baby for a pre-paid envelope. Once returned, the consumer will receive a $20 e-gift card to be used at burtsbeesbaby.com.
