“Career Criminal” sentenced to 15 years

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man, with Career Criminal status, has been sentenced for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

After pleading guilty, Tyrone Wright, 41, was sentenced to 15 years in prison with two years of supervised release, Tuesday.

According to court documents, in March 2015, Wright possessed a firearm after prior felony offenses.  Wright was convicted of serious drug offenses and violent felonies in Allen County Superior Court in 2007 and 2001. He was also convicted in St. Joseph County Superior Court in 1994.  These three felonies qualify him for Armed Career Criminal status with a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
