Fort Wayne college political organization planning to send statement on guns to representatives

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Students from a local political organization have decided to take gun talk matters into their own hands.

Members of The Fort Wayne College Democrats and the College Republicans of Fort Wayne gathered on Tuesday to finalize a bipartisan statement to send to Indiana’s state legislators and U.S. representatives and senators.

According to the Journal Gazette, the statement includes support for legislation that will require use of a background check on all gun purchases, require states to input data into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, allow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to study gun violence, and ban the making of bump stocks.

The students believe that if all of these are passed, it will help prevent further shootings and can help save lives.
