FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana says Indiana will be seeing yet another blast of winter this weekend, despite the calendar saying that spring arrived Tuesday.

The forecast is calling for wet, heavy snow to start late Friday evening and continuing into Saturday night, with the peak intensity of the event running from 2am to 2pm Saturday. The areas that will be hit the hardest include White, Cass, and Miami Counties, while the area surrounding Allen County can expect anywhere from a dusting to a couple of inches.

The Service is also warning of blowing snow, thanks to winds out of the east ranging from 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 35 mph. WOWO news will continue to monitor the situation, and will post updates should the forecast change.
