Noblesville Superintendent has Fort Wayne ties

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It turns out Fort Wayne has a connection to last week’s school shooting in Noblesville: that school district’s Superintendent got her start here.

Beth Niedermeyer joined the Noblesville School District in July 2014, but before then she spent the first ten years of her career with Fort Wayne Community Schools. The Journal Gazette reports she taught, and later served as principal, at Pleasant Center Elementary.

The one-time FWCS Teacher of the Year wasn’t available for comment yesterday when Noblesville West Middle School reopened for the first time after a teacher and a 13-year-old girl were both shot by a male student.

That teacher, Jason Seaman, tackled the shooter and is being hailed as a hero.
