INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana is near the middle of the pack when it comes to taking care of kids.
The national 2018 Kids Count Data Book was released early today by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Indiana comes in 28th overall.
The report looks at categories like family and community, health, education, and economics in an overall ranking of child well-being, and despite being ranked 14th in education, the Hoosier State lags behind in health, economic well-being, and family and community.
The Journal Gazette adds that Indiana’s child poverty rates were split along racial lines, with black children three times more likely to live in poverty than white children.
