FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Chances are you’re either setting off fireworks this week, or you’ll be hearing your neighbors doing it.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department says there are a few rules to keep in mind: fireworks must only be used on either the user’s property or the property of someone who consented to it.

They should be used by adults; kids under 18 can only set them off when an adult is present. And fireworks can only be used between 5 pm to about two hours after dusk today (Monday), Tuesday, and July 5th through 9th, while on Wednesday those hours are extended from 10 am to midnight.

You could face misdemeanor and even felony charges for violating the city’s fireworks law. Read more here.
