FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man has admitted to his part in the fatal shooting of a North Side High School assistant football coach.

21-year-old Jaevin Bowie pleaded guilty this week to assisting a criminal and attempted theft, in a deal that saw murder charges dropped. Police say he and another man were stealing from a car near the East Central Towers apartments when they were confronted by 36-year-old Terrance Miles, who was shot to death by the other man.

The Journal Gazette reports that Henry Underwood had been named by police as the possible gunman, but he hasn’t been charged.

Bowie will be sentenced in September and faces up to 8-and-a-half years in prison.
