Fort Wayne man cuts plea deal over fatal crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man has pleaded guilty to causing a fatal car crash near the start of the year.

25-year-old Donald Stump pleaded guilty Monday to 10 felony charges in the January 2nd crash that killed a 69-year-old man.

Police say Stump was driving 106 miles per hour when he hit the man’s truck on East Washington Boulevard on the night of January 2nd.

The Journal Gazette reports he made a plea deal to limit his time in prison to a maximum of 8 years, although the deal would also suspend his driving privileges, possibly forever.

Stump will be sentenced on September 21st.
