Bomb squad called in for package at Lima Meijer

LIMA, Ohio (WOWO): A Meijer in northwest Ohio was evacuated Sunday night due to a suspicious package.

The Allen County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management tells the Lima News it happened at the store on Elida Road in Lima at around 6pm.

The building and parking lot were both evacuated, and a bomb squad robot brought the package out of the building almost four hours later.

Another hour passed before the package was ruled “not hazardous” and the all-clear was given.
