FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Covington Elementary School will close its doors Monday after a viral outbreak of the stomach flu affected many of its students.

Our partners in news at ABC 21 report the school sent home letters Friday, stating the “stomach flu” is the root of the problem, and that closing the school Monday will give students time to recover.

The school has instructed custodial staff to thoroughly clean the building over the extended weekend.
