Former Kendallville High School avoids demolition

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): An empty school building in Kendallville will get a new lease on life.

East Noble School Corporation officials were planning on tearing down the former Kendallville High School and East Noble Middle School, but last night the school board voted unanimously to transfer ownership to the City of Kendallville after members of the public objected to the demolition plans.

KPC News reports the plan is to turn the century-old campus into a community learning center for both kids and adults.

The Kendallville City Council still needs to approve the deal before it becomes final.
