ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Officials with South Adams Schools are trying to reassure parents about the district’s school safety policies.

Superintendent Scott Litwiller says in a press release that the district received word last week of a threat made against a school by a student. Litwiller says the threat was investigated and the student handbook was followed, but over the weekend and into this week, more reports were heard and officials have continued to investigate.

Litwiller says rumors on social media are exaggerating the situation, and adds that South Adams officials are taking every report seriously.

So far there’s been no official indication that students are in any danger.
