PAULDING, Ohio (WOWO): Amazon is moving ahead to develop a wind farm in Paulding County. Yes, that Amazon.

Company officials say they hope to begin producing electricity by May 2017. Published reports say the proposed 100-megawatt farm would produce enough power for about 29,000 homes.

The wind farm is expected to power proposed distribution centers in central Ohio.

Currently, Blue Creek Wind Farm operates dozens of turbines in Van Wert and Paulding Counties.

The company says it wants to power their facilities with 100-percent renewable energy. It appears this development would include about 65 turbines.
