FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An Indiana man serving a 30-year sentence for driving drunk and causing a crash that killed three people will stay in prison.

Anthony W. Dager, of New Haven, appealed his sentence, but the Court of Appeals said this week that the sentence sought by the prosecutor’s office was appropriate, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

Indiana Appeals Court denies man’s appeal of 30-year sentence 0.16 percent in April 2015 when his car crossed the center line and hit a vehicle head on.

The driver of the other vehicle, 72-year-old Rebecca Prentice and a passenger, 64-year-old Paul Penrod, were pronounced dead at the scene of S.R. 1 north of Ossian.

Another passenger, 65-year-old Karen Smith, was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital, where she later died.

Dager was charged with three counts of operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.15 percent or more causing death. In August, Dager was sentenced to 10 years for each victim.
