Avept picks Indiana for distribution center, creates up to 118 jobs

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WOWO): A power-sport and automotive part company will create up to 118 jobs in Indiana by 2019.

Avept will invest $6.32 million to purchase, renovate and equip at 100,000 square-foot distribution center. The center will be built at 1210 E. Northfield Drive in Brownsburg.

This will be the second distribution center for the California-based company. It will allow the company to deliver products faster. It will also house sales, costumer service and product development operations.

“As the Crossroads of America, Indiana is the perfect base for delivering products to customers across the country,” said Governor Mike Pence. “From our central location to our world-class airports, interstates, railroads and waterways, Indiana is a state that works for logistics.”

Avept currently employs 40 associates. It is hiring for warehouse management and costumer service positions. Anyone interested can apply by sending a resume to jobs@avept.com.

Avept was founded in 2005 and works with small service and repair shops. It supplies the shops will parts for all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, cars and trucks.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered the company up to $595,000 in conditional tax credits. It also offered Avept up to $55,000 in training grants. The incentives are performance-based, which means the company isn’t eligible to claim incentives until Hoosiers are hired.
