Emergency crews are on scene in the 1500 block of N. Iowa Street, NW of Lincoln Way & Bendix Dr. in South Bend after a private plane crashed into as many as three homes.

The crash occurred at around 4:30 Sunday afternoon. The area is currently evacuated due to a gas leak.

Police, ambulance, fire crews and homeland security is currently on scene.

At least two people have been taken away in ambulances.

So far there is no word on the extent of the injuries to the crew on the plane.

There are no reports, yet, of any injuries to people on the ground or inside the home, however, information is still developing at the scene.
