FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Incumbent Liz Brown is claiming victory in the Republican primary for Indiana Senate District 15 after unofficial results showed her narrowly defeating challenger Darren Vogt.

According to final unofficial totals released Wednesday, Brown received 5,241 votes, or 50.07%, compared to Vogt’s 5,226 votes, or 49.93%. The razor-thin margin of just 15 votes makes it one of the closest races in the region this election cycle.

Vogt, a Northwest Allen County Schools Board member and staffer for U.S. Senator Jim Banks, entered the race with high-profile endorsements, including support from Banks and Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.

The results will remain unofficial until certified by election officials.
