Butler Man Wrecks Motorcycle Trying To Pass Vehicle

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A motorcyclist allegedly attempting to illegally pass a car in DeKalb County ended up wrecking his bike Tuesday night.

Authorities say 30 year old Nikolas Patrick of Butler was trying to go around the car being driven by 72 year old Jerold Zehr of Auburn.

Zehr was reportedly slowing down to turn onto a private drive off of State Route 8. Even though he tried to cross a double yellow line, Patrick wasn't fast enough to get around Zehr's car and ended up striking the front driver's side.

Patrick was taken to the hospital for treatment of facial cuts, various bruises, and burns.
