LEBANON, Ind. (AP) _ A central Indiana county is the latest to get vote centers for its elections.

The secretary of state's office announced Monday that Boone County, northwest of Indianapolis, had become the 18th Indiana county where vote centers are approved. Other counties have plans pending with the secretary of state's office, which oversees elections in Indiana. A 2011 state law allows makes vote centers an option for any Indiana county.

Vote centers are polling places where any eligible voters in the county may cast their ballots instead of a specific polling location.
