NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The body of a Columbia City man was recovered from Big Lake in Noble County Sunday.

The Journal Gazette reports the body of 59-year-old Geoffrey Foughty was found at about 2:40 p.m. in the third basin of Big Lake.

He had been swimming with friends near a pontoon 40 minutes prior, when he went below the water’s surface and never came back up.

Authorities aren’t yet saying just what caused the man to be unable to resurface.
