FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A big part of downtown Fort Wayne’s riverfront development is right on schedule.
The City’s Parks and Recreation Department gave the media a tour of construction underway at Promenade Park Wednesday.
The $20-million project is one of the most visible pieces of the city’s riverfront plans. Director Steve McDaniel tells the Journal Gazette that while construction was slowed down slightly by rains that led to higher water levels in the St. Marys River, the project is still set to wrap up in Summer 2019.
The park will feature a walking trail, an amphitheater, and a pavilion.
