Damage Reported in Separate Weekend House Fires

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called out to a house fire at around noon yesterday on Allegany Avenue.  When they got to the scene, they doused the flames, but not before the house sustained heavy smoke damage.  Investigators say two teenagers were at home before the fire broke out.  They left for a little while and returned to find the home engulfed in flames.

Meanwhile, a fire was reported on Sunday morning on Old Trail Road, near Lower Huntington Road.  The fire department said the flames were confined to the kitchen area and were put out pretty quickly.   Nobody was in the house which currently sits vacant while some remodeling work is being done.
