Death of 22-Month-Old in Gary Ruled a Homicide

GARY, Ind. (AP) _ The death of a 22-month-old boy at an apartment complex has been ruled a homicide.

The Lake County coroner's office ruled Wednesday that Brandon Dillon died of blunt force trauma. He was pronounced dead at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday. Gary police say they were called to the scene about an hour earlier.

Gary Police Cpl. Gabrielle King told the Times of Munster that officers were called to the apartment building for a report of a disturbance. Building employees told police as they arrived there was a dead child in a fourth-floor bedroom.

The Post-Tribune says the victim's mother, his twin sister and a younger sibling were inside and Brandon was lying on an air mattress in a bedroom.
