Defiance tractor driver dies in crash with motorcycle

DEFIANCE, Ohio. (WOWO): A man driving a tractor was killed after the John Deere he was riding collided with a motorcycle.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Saturday on County Road 209 near Township Road 184, according to the Journal-Gazette.

68-year-old Lynn Wickerham of Defiance was riding his tractor on the shoulder of County Road 209 when he encountered another Defiance man riding a motorcycle heading southbound.

Wickerham made a left turn onto the road and collided with the motorcycle, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Both men were ejected from their respective vehicles.

Wickerham died at the scene while the motorcycle rider had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
