Two dead in Dekalb County crash

BUTLER, Ind. (WOWO): Two people were killed in a one-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon in Dekalb County when their SUV ended up underwater.

The Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department says they arrived to the intersection of County Road 71 and County Road 12 north of Butler at about 1:20pm and found a GMC Sonoma overturned in the runoff ditch, submerged in 8 to 10 inches of water.

Apparently the vehicle had lost control on County Road 71 and ended up flipping into the ditch.

21-year-old Emily Teusch of Huntington and 25-year-old Nathan Marten of Woodburn were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police don’t know how long the two had been there.
