Eric Wedge Suffered Mild Stroke

SEATTLE (AP) _ The Mariners say manager Eric Wedge suffered a “very mild stroke'' this week but is well enough to be released from a hospital. The 45-year-old Wedge was hospitalized Monday after complaining about light-headedness during batting practice. He underwent a battery of tests and was sent home from the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Bench coach Robby Thompson served as acting manager during the team's three-game set against the Indians and will continue to run the club for the next three series.
