Feds: Ind. man used Facebook to contact teenage girls

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Federal prosecutors say an Indianapolis man posed as a female on Facebook to trick teenage girls as young as 13 to send him explicit photos or have sex.

Twenty-two-year-old Austin Williams was being held Thursday on charges including attempted sexual exploitation and child pornography.

Court documents say Williams threatened to upload the girls’ explicit photos to Facebook unless they sent him more photos or met him for sex. Prosecutors say he at least once posted a 17-year-old’s photos even after she complied, driving her to attempt suicide.

Williams allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old girl after tricking her into meeting him, and raped a 15-year-old girl after he obtained her address. Investigators traced the communications to Williams through email and Facebook accounts.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Williams.
