Fire Chief’s Windshield Smashed by Irate Man

Ind. fire chief’s windshield smashed by irate man
PITTSBORO, Ind. (WOWO):  A central Indiana fire chief says his department SUV’s windshield was smashed near the scene of a house fire by a man apparently irate that the vehicle was parked in his driveway.

Brownsburg battalion chief Kevin Whitt says he pulled into the driveway across the road from the burning house near Pittsboro when he arrived early Wednesday morning.

Whitt says a man standing nearby soon started yelling at him to move the SUV from his driveway and began kicking the vehicle. Whitt says the man soon threw an aluminum folding ladder at the SUV several times before throwing a concrete patio paver at the windshield.

The 27-year-old man was jailed on preliminary misdemeanor charges, including criminal mischief and interfering with firefighters.
